Welcome to this month's series where we would like to take you behind the scenes and share what's been happening at Business Assist! Networking and regular upskilling is so important for businesses to stay up-to-date and relevant. This is why we would like to encourage you to join us and make the most of these opportunities to grow your business and network.

1. NBS Lunch & Learn | 9 April 2024

Boost Your Bottom Line with these 7 Marketing Hacks with Simon Farrar, Max Marketing

Marketing was a popular topic for our local businesses to explore! We had a full house with Simon sharing his top tips about:
- direct marketing
- online marketing
- the dangers of just relying on demographics
- ways on how to get the customers’ attention
- what to measure
and so much more!

Thanks so much to our wonderful sponsors at NBS, and Pūtangitangi Greenmeadows Centre for hosting us.

2. Apex Accounting "Just Talking" Businesswomen's Series | 17 May 2024
with Jessica Patterson, Director, Apex Accounting

We celebrated our 3rd full house this month, bringing together a group of fantastic businesswomen for a supportive, heartfelt and approachable networking event, with lots of laughs, too! Our special guest in the hot seat didn’t disappoint, we could have easily listened to the fascinating and diverse business journey of award-winning Jessica Patterson for another hour!

Thank you to all who came, participated and enjoyed connecting at our Apex Accounting “Just Talking” Businesswomen Series, to our wonderful sponsors Jess & Lydia, and to our amazing hosts and partners at BNZ Partners Centre Nelson for making this possible.

3. ICIB BizBreak Networking | 24 April 2024

“I came because I wanted to meet more businesses that are interested in sustainability.”
“I saw the events on Facebook and wanted to join.”
“I am here because I needed to get out and network.”

This month's special edition networking took place at Rust Kitchen. Following a roundtable of introductions, the participants enjoyed the conversations & sharing tips with each other about hot topics like what are the best ways to get referrals and what works for their businesses.

Many people work from home so it’s always refreshing to get out, socialise, and have a cuppa with like-minded business people.

We also got to hear the story behind this new place in town, tried some delicious bagels, coffee and learned about what they do about recycling and being more sustainable. Thank you Ian, Pablo & Saori for the warm welcome!

Big thanks to Natalie Lawrence & ICIB Brokerweb Insurance & Risk Advisory for making this event series possible!
